Derek Chauvin (born March 19, 1976) is an American former police officer who faced charges of murdering George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 25, 2020. In the course of the arrest conducted by Chauvin and three other officers, he knelt on George Floyd’s neck.
